Why This Site Exists
Illinois law makes many jail, court, and public custody records available, but Hardin County does not appear to publish an official online jail roster. That makes the practical path more local and more manual than in counties with a large public booking portal. Hardin County Jail is run by the Hardin County Sheriff's Office for local, pretrial, and short-stay custody. IDOC runs a separate locator for sentenced state prisoners. Federal and immigration custody use BOP and ICE systems, not the county jail.
This site brings those separate sources into one reference point.
